We have another clear example of some time where institutions or companies aren't being particularly responsible in the way they go about this, not leading to trust.

Now, another thing that's happened this week and has kind of come out, this is from Ed Week.

This is the third summer in a row, I think, that Google, who obviously we have an affection for, right? We generally are putting some tip or trick or new development from Google.

When that employee leaves eight months later, Leaders blame the labor market instead of asking what the first 90 days actually looked like.

Mark Lieberman, writing for Education Week, documented this exact pattern across the country.

Classified staff endures exhausting conditions and minimal support.

Yet many stay anyway because of the relationships they build with students.

She has detailed with heavy citation how the media has grossly misrepresented almost everything that's in the podcast, almost everything that's in the articles in APM, American Public Media.

Education Week has done this almost weekly, Forbes, New York Times, and she lays out with evidence how it's this misrepresentation.

It was very hard to resist media narratives until social media.

The reason I have a blog is it allows me to make information accessible to anybody, but anybody can access it.

Whoops.

A new Education Week survey finds teacher morale has dropped nationwide, including in Florida.

Teachers say more planning time, smaller class sizes, and better student discipline policies would do so much more to improve job satisfaction than just pay a loan.

But many Florida teachers also report challenges with student behavior overall and believe that they're being paid less than educators in other states.

We're talking to teachers and other school staff today about what's on their minds as the new school year gets underway.

Education Week surveyed more than 1,000 educators earlier this year, and the picture they paint is pretty clear.

Student behavior and engagement are the top concerns.

Budget uncertainty is close behind, and somewhere in the mix is artificial intelligence.

You know, we mentioned earlier that three-quarters...

Teachers say they expect student behavior to be a major challenge this year.

That was in the Education Week survey.

Jennifer, what are you thinking about in terms of student behavior? DJ taught K-5 students.

But let's address this K, one, two thing that keeps coming up, because I think it will keep coming up.

In the Education Week article, we read one in there as well.

There was a Fordham Institute piece that was done on, uh, third-grade retention, and it came up there as well, talking about the fact that we're looking at third grade, and Stacy, you brought up the fact that that seemed to be our focus, was look at the third grade and say, "Okay, how did we do?" But rather, what we're finding the data's telling us K, one, two is where we really should be pouring more emphasis, because those are good years to get some excellent skills down, and also to get some habits down around reading and writing.

And yet they seem to be, as we focus, as we say, the retention on third grade, then we start pouring on summer school for those kids that are looking at retention.

And I really do think, uh, it's not lost on me, that's for sure, how important it is.

And there was an article out a couple days ago in the Pennsylvania Capital-Star and Education Week, and they also did a similar study to this.

It says, "Brain scans show the improvement teachers see in their students.

Researchers put 256 sensors into a hairnet and had 36 students write words by hand and then type the same words they had just written by hand on a screen.

ASCA staff serving as expert sources for stories other people were already writing.

Legitimate visibility, but I couldn't find a sustained national public push built around the fifty-nine percent or the one to three hundred and seventy-two.

I couldn't find a campaign saying, "Here's what this is costing your district.

No, they weren't part of it, but it was a great article that really talked about student voice.
