What was interesting to me about this was to see just how small both the worlds of sci-fi and the worlds of comics are.

and how many overlaps there are between these two worlds and obviously in the golden and silver age you've got guys like edmund hamilton who were you know legitimate sci-fi writers making their bones in comic books as well so the barriers between these two fields are or were not very high at the time they just headed back and forth and you've got the folks in one business who are the agents of the other guys so i mean everybody in those fields knew each other worked with each other i think that's cool

It was something that kind of created a gateway, but it was also something that created a community that most of these guys were either in New York or commuted to New York.

They could go out and have drinks together.
