Edge of Eternities

It's from Edge of Eternities.

When it enters, you can, it has like devour lands and you can devour any number of lands and it enters with a bunch of counters equal to it.

And Baeloth Prime, when you sacrifice lands, makes beasts.

Over 400 new cards.

Two months later, in August, there was Edge of Eternities.

Another 252 cards plus 24 from Commander.

Kind of a return to the norm.

So all told, unlike the year that is shaping up to be 2026, we had two of our largest sets this year were universes beyond.

Final Fantasy and Avatar with a sprinkling of Spider-Man in there.

And the in-universe sets were Aether Drift, Tarkir Dragon Storm, and Edge of Eternities.

Okay.

So how about you give us a little rundown of what this cube is?

Yeah, the Chrome Wars is a theme-first space environment, really enabled by the existence of Edge of Eternities and a few of the Universes Beyond sets that have explored art reprints with art that include planets in the background or spaceships or something a little more futuristic.

But then also those properties like 40K, Fallout, even Doctor Who, that kind of have the generic cards with space-like printing on them.

Those sets really enable this environment to exist.

So tell us for the listeners who may not know about Edge of Eternities, why the set was so interesting to you.

Because Edge of Eternities, when it came out, was very skeptical.

Sort of space and time, of course.

That's from the next time we go to Edge of Eternities.

Yes, what a good set.

But I have an amazing Trey's trivia for you today.

It's too powerful.

And now I'm trying to remember the, how the Limited environment for Edge of Eternities played out, and I didn't play as much of that set as I wanted to 'cause it was really busy when it came out.

But I recall that, like, making combat choices about how you blocked and stuff kind of mattered.

... and exciting, but they're, like I s- yeah, I, that-

... that one seemed unbalanced from my recollection of E- Edge of Eternities.

This is cool.

I just wish we hadn't gotten this on top of the Edge of Eternities and Lord of the Eclipsed versions on top of...

The Ravnica Clue versions on top of Ravnica Remastered, which was at the end of last year.
