Edgar Meyer

Oh, yeah.

But with great voicings, great spirit, fantastic phrasing on the fiddle player starts to play some cool licks, like Edgar Meyer stuff.

It gets really, really neat.

And furthermore...

I think a lot of energy that had started even with the new grass revival, Jerry Douglas, Béla Fleck, Tony Rice, where bluegrass was growing beyond just more simplistic fiddle tunes and three-chord vocal tunes into, you know, more jazz influenced, uh, you know, odd time me- uh, uh, meters and a compositional kind of approach that was more akin to something that, you know, that again, just to use the jazz term again, more associated with that kinda thing, more, more deeper melodies, you know, classically influenced really as far as like harmonic depth and, and complexity.

Um, and a lot of that, you know, is the energy of Edgar Meyer who-

Mm

... you know, was, you know, from the Strength in Numbers records, you know, the energy that was started there.
