Eden James

It was, um, they were down near the end zone and they rolled him out.

He had Eden James open and coulda got the first down.

He tries to score, throws it deep out of the end zone.

Mm.

to open the year.

Eden James is averaging a ton of yards per carry.

I think they just got more offensive firepower.

And I just think Hampton's a year or two away, man, from being competitive.

And I think going forward, that's going to be the foundation upon which we may see a successful season after all.

My only concerns on the defensive side of things after this game where Rutgers was able to dominate Howard, and even though they held Howard under 200 yards of total offense, they still gave up over 100 yards on the ground and gave 116 yards to a Howard running back and My guy, Eden James.

The first three weeks of the season has been issues with containing a lot of scrimmage, especially on the defensive side.

The number one thing that kept that game out of reach last week against USC was that when it was third and five or third and four or third and two, USC was guaranteed a first down.

With these types of matchups, we've seen them in the news throughout the last couple of weeks of how why are these big schools just trying to beat up on HBCUs, even though they help fund the programs.

And they give those players opportunities to showcase what they can do against better competition and put them on a better spotlight.

And hopefully, Eden James, Edgar and James' son, is going to be one of those players that we look at as we end the season to be a guy that takes over the MEAC, the conference that Howard is in.

And there was a lot of good things that Howard did show on tape tonight.
