Eddie Murphy: Delirious

Eddie Murphy, dude, God, man.

Go back and watch Delirious and then go back and watch, what was the second one? Raw.

The

blue bodysuit, the whole thing.

That was my favorite.

Uh, uh, Delirious.

Delir- Is it Delirious? I think so.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yep.

And Eddie Murphy Delirious comes on.

Uh-oh.

And w- we're watching it, but every time he cursed, she would turn the channel, like, "Ooh, Lord, you children, s- you kids"- [laughs] ... "you kids don't need to be seeing this.

Because it was like debuting on a Friday night or something like that.

And it was, I still think that Bigger and Blacker at that time, other than maybe Bill Cosby himself and Eddie Murphy Delirious and Martin Lawrence, You So Crazy, it made me laugh so hard because I was like...

this guy is so incredibly smart.

He's saying stuff that you're thinking and you wish you knew how to say, you know? Yeah.

Yeah, I'm going there.

I'm going Eddie Murphy Delirious from 1983.

You know there'd be one kid on the side didn't get no ice cream? And kids don't care.

They go, "You don't have no ice cream."

I'm, I'm going off on a rant here.

I really like this special.

But there was an episode of, uh, Community, the Halloween episode where Donald Glover dressed up as Eddie Murphy in Delirious.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

And that's from Eddie Murphy's Delirious.

Fucking hell, dude.

Sorry.

And then my older brother and my dad would always watch stand-up comedy, and they introduced me to a lot of stand-up comedy specials, like George Lopez or Paul Rodriguez, um, Eddie Murphy.

I remember watching Eddie Murphy Delirious in my brother's room when we were little, and I, I w- I didn't understand, but I just loved watching him laugh and being like, "Okay, those words make him laugh.

I gotta remember those words." [laughs]

Yeah.

Was it Gurney Gugu? That's his Aunt Bunny

in Eddie Murphy Delirious.

Aunt Bunny.

Gurney Gugu.
