Council Member Lynn, I want to start by talking about what this bill does, if indeed it does pass, and what it does not do, because I think there's been some confusion about that.

Yeah, there's a couple of different pieces.

One, so it does not change any of our environmental regulations.

So we have some of the strictest environmental regulations in the country, things like our energy code, things like our stormwater code.

It does not affect our tree code.

None of those are impacted.

So the name of SEPA, State Environmental Protection Agency, Act is a little bit misleading because it actually does not protect the environment at all.
