... last through the meet, Fred, you know, was, uh-

Yeah, I remember Eddie Lawson saying to that-

Yeah

... to him.

You know, what was the biggest difference for you then coming over, going over?

Yeah, I mean, when I went over there, I mean, Kenny's year, 83, that was the year, you know, there was Freddie and Randy and that was Eddie Lawson's first year.

So really, you know, the Americans were dominant at that period.

And so, yeah, Uh, you know, some of us hung out, you know, Freddie it's, it's interesting.

But this car was obviously driven in 96 by professional drivers.

So this car belonged to Eddie Lawson and then also Davy Jones.

And they both drove it within the year, year and a half span.

And then obviously the big wig teams sold it off and then eventually became mine.

But I thought, "Okay, I got this covered," I think.

We start the race and, you know, and Eddie and I start, and then Eddie gets around me, and I'm, I'm having trouble staying with him.

I'm going in, and boy, I'm really pushing the front.

It's chattering and chattering.

And, and Eddie won the race, you know, and I thought, "Okay, you know, his pace is, you know, everything.

It's, we got some work to do, uh, on the 500 that we didn't see coming." And, um, you know, I s- and I was telling Michelin, first we gotta get a tire because one of the t- the t- the tire that Eddie was running was one of the tires that I thought would be good on our bike.

It was perfect on the Yamaha, you know?

Right.
