Eddie Izzard

As I got even older, then I got into the original pilots of like the Mighty Boots, really surreal stuff.

I used to get VHSs of stand-up comedians, Billy Connolly, Eddie Izzard, Richard Pryor, all the, because comedy was like, you know, there was only like seven or eight comedians and this alternative kind of storytelling comedy was coming up.

I used to, somebody got me a video of Markham and Wise and, I was really young, but I just started to figure this out.

And I was the youngest of four kids.

Because, you know, repertoire came out and I was like, wow, this guy is...

So amazing and interesting and funny and, you know, was almost kind of occupying a space that someone like Eddie Izzard kind of occupied.

But there was sort of more structure to it and, you know, brilliant, really amazing.

And I, as a result, just started doing the impression, yeah.

Sure.

There was like a period where I was telling Dimitri Martin jokes and Eddie Izzard jokes.

Okay.

And my teacher at one point was like, that's not your joke.

Um, Lana Rhodes, the adult film actress at Sexpo was, was that whole experience was so funny.

Um, Eddie Izzard, fantastic comedian actor.

All of those, that was before I even started the podcast.

They were just the craziest experiences.

So I thought he played a very good role in that.

You ever hear the Eddie Izzard skit where he's like, made my Ryan, let's go to Nottingham, Nottingham forest.

Apart from the accent.

Yeah.

But even then, like there was just also like there was it just seemed like everything this guy was getting was coming from the media or coming from stuff he was seeing on television.

Even his idea for the marathons, I think, came from Eddie Izzard, who ran all those marathons back around the same time.

Yeah.

So like all of these things, it's just like this this sort of seems like a serial fabulous, right? Like it seems sort of like a compulsive liar and a serial fabulous, which is like, whatever.
