Ed Fry

And I do remember

Coach Sutton and Ed Fry, they did try to get us to go to IUP.

They were one of the offers, but they could not offer a

scholarship.

I listened to Dolly rattle dishes in the kitchen until that stopped, and then I watched old man Brule pace his front yard.

Once Ed Fry went out and talked to him briefly, and then headed for the front door again.

For a long hour after that, the big house was silent until from somewhere out in the back, there was a soft metallic tapping.

Eventually, I spotted a heavy figure outside, tossing pebbles against a window pane downstairs.

The whole story with pictures.

There's no doubt about it.

Ed Fry is really Eddie Fillmore.

He's a murderer.

And I didn't want to have him beat me in the alumni meet and things like that, but he did.

Yeah, Ed Fry was a great runner.

I think in 1975, he won the World Championship Masters 10K.

It was here in Toronto.

I think he lapped the field.

Dan, Andy, Jake, what about running with Ed Fry at workouts? Do you remember, was he still in shape at

77? Yeah, I'd like to go back to the original question, please.

My recollection of Coach Fry, when I showed up at IUP, I hadn't run since February.
