And we can only serve God with the time that he gives us, in the times he puts us in.

Now in Ecclesiastes chapter three, if you'll take out your message notes, you'll notice the verse at the top, Ecclesiastes 3.1 says this, there is an appointed time for everything.

and there is a right time for every activity under heaven.

Now you might wanna circle the word everything and every.

So I want to share with you the steps that Kay and I have used for discerning the best time to make a major decision.

Ecclesiastes 8 verse 5 says this, a wise person, a wise person does the right thing at the right time.

That is a mark of wisdom, okay? So do the right thing at the right time.

That's a satisfaction.

Ecclesiastes 8, though a sinner does evil a hundred times and prolongs his life, yet I know that it will be well with those who fear God because they fear before him.

They have this holy fear of God.

So to submit it to God needs this holy fear of reverence to God that we bring all things to him.

Being sure that God is for us, then we have no enemies and can have none that can hurt us.

Then Fanny Shepard read from Ecclesiastes 8:12.

"I know that it shall be well with them that fear God." Nothing, it seems then, can hurt those who belong to God.

A blessed thing to know.

The teacher now places wisdom near royal power.

Listen to Ecclesiastes 8, verses 1-6.

This is counsel for surviving and acting wisely near a dangerous king.

It is not a command to abate every ungodly order.

The teacher now does something that can surprise us.

With injustice still unresolved, he commends enjoyment.

Listen to Ecclesiastes 8, verses 15 through 17.

Hear enjoyment as received life, not denial.

Right? Um, and I, I don't know how you fix it other than, uh, restoring the capacity of, of men to be able to tell women no.

That and E- Ecclesiastes 8:11, "Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the heart of the children of man is fully set to do evil."

Yeah.

Ecclesiastes 8 says, when the sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the hearts of men are emboldened to do wickedness.

And, man, that's what we're trying to hold back right now, but it seems like the dam is just broken and it's just a flood right now, is that because the sentence against evil deeds has not been executed speedily, because justice has not been held in our society, people are emboldened to do evil.

Like, for example, the woman who was obsessed with the Lindsay Clancy case.

Otherwise, you must needs go out of this world.
