Now here to talk about the second Police Academy film, confusingly named Police Academy 2, Their First Assignment.

There's two movies, two American movies, this really made me think about

One, the supplements bring up repeatedly is that Easy Rider is just this movie.

It's just this movie.

It's an American remake of this movie.

yeah, sure.

just hate Easy Rider.

In the film industry, there's always those times, right? In the 70s, when the directors took over from the studios, right? Because the studios were making stuff like Paint Your Wagon, where Clint Eastwood's singing.

They just had no connection to the audience, right? And then Easy Rider comes out and makes a ton of money.

And they're like, we don't even understand this movie.

Then in the 90s, you had Tarantino and Smith, right? And they're changing the industry.

And it kind of sent, sent Hollywood into a tailspin, you know.

"Oh, now, God, what are we gonna do?" Belts were tightened, and unfortunately they looked around and thought, "We've got this new generation of hotshot young directors," the New Hollywood, as they would become known as, "and they wanna make films like Easy Rider, and they wanna make films like Bonnie and Clyde."

Yeah.

They don't wanna make The Vampire Lovers.
