Eastern Rebellion

And so Cedar Waltons had him talking while I think Ugetsu was playing in the background.

Not the original version by Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers on the album of the same name, but I think it was from Eastern Rebellion Volume 2. with Bob Berg, Sam Jones, and Billy Higgins.

Anyway, I heard this beautiful melody, and it inspired me.

Man, this guy is cool, Cedar Walton.

I became enthralled with that melody, but I still hadn't found that ugetsu that I'd heard on the station ID, so I kept getting more Cedar Walton records.

In 1975, Cedar recorded this classic album as a leader.

It's called Eastern Rebellion that leads off with his original Bolivia.

And when I heard that, it seemed like the record was released just a few months after it was recorded.
