American Premier Soccer League

And Bill is the American Premier Soccer League Metropolitan Conference Commissioner.

I had a great conversation with him, which you'll hear today in conversation with the coach.

The APSL, it's a semi-professional grassroots soccer league.

They have nine conferences, 83 clubs.

It's bigger than I even knew before I did my research.

They've got more than 3,000 players across the country.

They've had some notable acknowledgments and wins.

The APSL finished, I guess, this past season ranked as the largest officially sanctioned league by the United States Adult Soccer Association.

Which league was that, Rob? Alphabet soup?

APSL.

APSL, right? The American Premier Soccer League, which also has a notion that they want to allow clubs to thrive on their own terms, I think.

Now, you always gotta have standards.

You can't just be letting everybody in willy-nilly, especially if you're gonna have turnover.

Now, I know that 40 was in the finals, national finals of the NPSL a couple years ago 'cause I was working for the NPSL a little bit.

So they must have jumped ship to League For Clubs.

Well, that's part of the intro for the League For Clubs that, uh, I did leave out to a degree because some of the, a lot of the teams that you talked about, the APSL, Midwest Premier League, and League For Clubs are former UPSL teams looking for-

That's at the end of the show, but before then, we got tons of great stuff.

We have a guest from the APSL to kind of fill us in on one of those emerging leagues at that fourth tier, trying to bridge the amateur to professional gap.
