East Punjab

There was this tall, very handsome man.

He looked just like the Sikhs one sees in the East Punjab.

Was he dark? Did he wear a turban? Yes, he did.

That's the man.

So Hindus were killing Muslims, Muslims were killing Hindus.

In that migration of populations from Bengal to West Bengal and from West Bengal to East Bengal, And from East Punjab to West Punjab and from West Punjab to East Punjab, that migration has led to a trauma among the Bengalis on the eastern side, as well as the Punjabis on the western side of our country, which has consequences till this day.

Consequences that you in the south experience but only sort of secondarily and to a much lesser and much lower extent.

Coming back to the continuing on the thread that we earlier spoke about, you spoke about not an employment training, not an education, employment and training and we put that figure into 100 million.

But if we look at other really controversial land right changes of the past, by and large, very few of them involve this strategy, right? The, the, the huge successful ones.

Like, in nineteen forty-seven, the Eastern Punjab in India redrew all of its land at once in a single one-off big enclosure scheme, right? Now, that wasn't, that wasn't, that was not because of a, of a, like, "Oh, let's, like, cleverly take over the government and, and force everyone." The, this was, this was, like, a popular bottom-up, um, thing.

I think the, the same thing, the, the Glorious Revolution shows that the same strategy should be part of our toolkit, not the only part of our toolkit.

We should be advocating, we should be convincing, we should be top-downing where it works.
