As

far as South County or East County.

And North County, those guys just, I don't know, they're just really talented guys up there.

So it was cool for me to like bump up to that class, I guess, and start being in those circles with those guys and hanging out with them.

Him and I both sit there and go, "Wait, what was it again?" But he, he served, and he [laughs] retired in 2016.

And at that point, we found a little ranch outside of, um, San Diego, where it's actually pretty rural area in East County.

And there were horses that had been...

Yeah, yeah.

But this time it's kind of southeast, south and east county.

Yeah, the last one we

did was north that we did earlier in the year.

That was it.

I'm hoping to talk.

I'm still working on getting Steve because it's our part of the town, and I've met so many of the guys and gals from the East County in this club, and I've just really thoroughly enjoyed the people I've met and what I've learned.

I'm learning something each

He explained to me that a man was arrested in Poway, California, which is in San Diego County.

It's in East San Diego County.

He was arrested on a narcotics and gun charge, and By now in California, it is law that if you're arrested on those type of charges, they take a buccal swab at booking and it's submitted to CODIS and that's how they got the hit.

So now we have a suspect.

My history in the fire service, I got into the fire service early 2000s, very similar time to you in San Diego County.

I worked in Lakeside in East County, San Diego, and I worked for the Lakeside Fire Protection District for a little over 22 years, where I worked through every rank from firefighter, engineer, captain, battalion chief up to a division chief when I left the organization a little over four years ago to be the fire chief in Murrieta.

I did a lot of work in that time.

I worked through a lot of the different divisions in the fire service, and I was the type of person that always wanted to be involved.

Petroglyphs are found in caves and on large boulders throughout San Diego County.

Some scholars speculate a petroglyph of a ship in East County, San Diego is the oldest graphic representation of a recorded event in U.S. history.

1542 is first contact in San Diego of Spanish and Kumeyaay.

And so I thought it would be interesting to put this particular image of what appears to be Cabrillo's ship in 1542.

I was transported from New York, New Jersey as a kid to the border, basically this, the San Diego border with Mexico out there in the wilderness, way out in East County, San Diego in 1977, 78, that winter, we went to visit my uncle who just moved there.

And I became absolutely enamored with that part of the world.

What an amazing Southern California is absolute paradise.

But out of all the DLG cons, I think this one might be my favorite because it was the five year anniversary.

We were back in San Diego, like East County, but still San Diego.

everybody was coming out, we had a big turnout, you know, COVID was kind of in the in the past, everybody was like, okay, like coming out and doing doing things again.

So we had a good turnout.

And it matched up.

We had a time period where Ron Porter was available to drive from the north part of the county down to pick up Sandra Swick and transport her to East County.

Based on the insect clues and the similarities between the Swick murder and the other cases, Ronald Porter was charged in the murder of Sandra Swick.

Prosecutors believe Ronald Porter picked up Swick as she hitchhiked somewhere near an entrance ramp to Interstate 8.
