Right.

And so you've seen it slowly as games going on, you know, blowing out Concordia, having a big win over East Bernard and you kind of slowly getting back to what we thought of second Baptist.

Right.

Um, On the flip side, though, that defense for Episcopal scares me.

The junior is taking care of the football.

And he's got a huge opportunity this week against East Bernard.

Brazos already passed a huge test by beating Ganado last week.

And now it's another measuring stick against a physical East Bernard team.

So a year ago, like this guy Hudgens was more or less kind of an unknown, right? Now four games into his junior year, he is looking the part of a guy you've got to pay attention to every single week.

I've loved what I've seen from Colton Hudgens at Wallace Brazos.

So a shout out to them.

Next game on the slate, Second Baptist defeats East Bernard, 45-28.

For those who don't know, East Bernard is a UIL 3A school, and a really good win for Second Baptist in this one.

I have some snaps pulled up.

Casey Dunn obviously played pretty well in this one, the quarterback, but his main target on the night was Brian Berwattis.

Brian in this one had four receptions for 160 17 receiving yards and a touchdown um 132 all-purpose yards he had two tackles on the other side of the ball uh and he's up now so 17 receptions 365 receiving yards five touchdowns and two tackles on the season um second matches has things rolling they're really trying to get in a groove here as they you know head into the district slate this is a really good matchup for them to play some UIL talent uh and they'll play a couple other looks like let's let me pull this up real quick Looks like they'll play EHS next week, which should prep them for their rest of their district slate.

I mean, my goodness, dude, EHS is quite the battle to climb right before you head to the district, but that's definitely preparing them pretty well.

So final score, once again, this one's taking back to 45 over East Bernard 28.

A lot, a lot there that I just don't necessarily have a great feel for, and I don't wanna pretend that I know what that, what exactly is going on there.

I also, quite frankly, I don't know what to make of East Bernard.

East Bernard goes on the road and beats Ganado.

They're 3-0.

We talked about them being an inspirational story.

I'm jealous that you guys get to go there, but I'll be watching on Dave Campbell's text in the live tonight for sure.

And I'm thinking rock fight in this one.

And I owe a lot to that man because... 18 years later, after I graduated from Texas A&M, I had an NFL career that is not bad.

But it all goes back to probably the situation we got put into that was kind of rough conversation we had in his office when he asked me to stop playing quarterback.

The TFC Coach of the Week is Daniel Ball, the interim head coach at East Bernard.

If you... are just now checking in on high school football.

East Bernard is two weeks removed, two weeks removed from their head coach, Jeremy Jenkins and his wife, Brandy Jenkins being killed in a car accident.

Um, I want you to think about everything that that program must have been going through over the last 14 days.

It just, an inconceivable amount of tragedy because as we know, especially, all Texas high school football coaches are like this, but I think especially Coach Jenkins in the East Bernard community, like they are ingrained there.

Yes, they are the guys who run the football program, but they are members of the community and East Bernard is not a big town.

And, Daniel Ball was given the, quite frankly, impossible task of taking over this program and guiding them on at least an interim basis.
