Earthship

Um, overstayed my visa a little bit and you know, it is what it is, but, uh, yeah.

And then after that, uh, Went and did the Earthship internship.

I don't know if you guys have heard of Earthships or anything like that.

But I did an internship.

I designed for them a little bit as well out in Taos, New Mexico.

I mean, it's nuts to me.

I worked on the first Earthships at the Rocky Mountain Institute in Colorado back in the mid-'80s.

Right? I went to Arcosante.

I've been doing this since nobody did it.

even more than my grapes in my backyard.

But the most miraculous thing on Earth today is a human being.

It's me.

It's Kevin.

Well, you know, I actually do, you know, I think that's pretty cool.

Because it's like the guy, what's his name, Reynolds, who does the Earthships out in the desert.

And I think this is out in New Mexico.

I think that's actually phenomenal because you're taking land that basically no one wants and you're making it a net zero house.

And then we've kind of come, we're kind of at peace with the stuff that we can't, if you like.

that's that's the main that's the main aim of it and i love building things basically it's it's an excuse to build things i've got a lot of buildings i'm in i'm in one now um i've done lots of roundhouse building with compost toilets and you know systems we've sort of half an earth ship here um so we do you know great water recycling in that which we grow so we Our bathroom is next to our kind of conservatory, if anyone's seen an Earthship, which has beds in it.

We grow some food in there.

So the grey water is recycled from our bathroom into there.

It cleans that, comes out, we run it into a little pond, and we get food out of it, basically.

And we can pump water back from that to flush the loop.

But it's only the front bit of an Earthship without the Earthship, if you like.

Maybe that's what I should do, sell everything.

Go buy a little off-the-grid Earthship and just...

Maybe that's what I'll do.

Now you got me thinking about it.
