Hello, welcome to a wet and windy valetway.

Good evening, welcome back to the podcast, Tuesday Night Post Trainers.

No. Fuck, that was – dude.

I still wish Ealing Trailfinders would be able to come up.

I think that would be awesome.

Great.

Yeah, exactly.

And it's great for the league as well, because for so long it had Ealing Trailfinders winning every single game.

Dominant.

They've not been able to go up because they don't fit the minimum standards criteria.

Doncaster beat Amagh Hill away 56 points to 26, 30 point.

Smashing Ealing Trailfinders after the first round.

Normal match, uh, lost last week in two years, 71-7 to, against Hartpury.

Poor Hartpury.

Yeah, yeah.

Dan Lancaster, rugby player signed by Racing 92, one of the best teams in France, from Ealing Trailfinders in the second division of English rugby.

surely a coincidence that his dad was Stuart Lancaster, the coach of Rassing 92.

And when his dad was fired, oddly, Dan was moved on.

This year, because of the work we've put in over the last year, we were able to hold onto the players we wanted- The, you know, all the players that we've added managed to strengthen it, and now we've got a pretty...

Well, a good enough side that we beat, uh, Ealing Trailfinders at the weekend when they went all year unbeaten until the playoffs last year.

So now we've solidified that, the next part of the plan is where do we wanna go from here? And actually, if you watched, if you get a chance, watch the game at the weekend.

The quality of rugby being played in the championship is-

So yeah, so it's about eight, yeah, the evening time now, um, here in, here in New Zealand.

We are gonna talk about Breast Cancer Awareness Month later, but before we do that, would it be okay if we revisit your journey to the Ireland squad first? So you moved from New Zealand in 2023 to join the Ealing Trailfinders, but it wasn't long until you found a place with the Ireland team.

Tell us about that.

Oh, gosh.

Yeah.

So, um, a little bit of a whirlwind where, well, yeah, was playing, um, in the UK with, um, Ealing Trailfinders, and it kind of got towards the middle of the season, and a lot of the girls, um, in the squad were kind of getting ready to, for Six Nations preparation.

And, um, I, my grandmother was born in Kilkenny in Ireland, so, um, and no one really in my team knew because I guess I'm half Samoan as well, so I don't exactly look, look the most, um, Irish [laughs] um, of a person.

And so I kind of had a chat to my parents, um, over the phone sort of saying, "Oh, I'm not sure if I wanna, um, try and put my hand up, for I don't even know, um, the process or how I would go about it." Um, they told me just to kind of to mention it to my coach, um, of Ealing Trailfinders and just kind of see what would happen from there.
