Eagles of Death Metal

Okay.

Like, I know him from every music documentary I've ever seen because he'll talk about anybody, Tom Petty, Eagles of Death Metal.

I'm pretty sure he was in the Air Supply documentary.

Maybe that Yacht Rock one that you saw.

And it's every version.

And even now, like, Eagles, Eagles, the whatever that game-

Eagles of Death Metal?

Eagles of Death Metal did a cover on it for, like, Super Troopers 2, and all I can hear is douche.

Okay, we had a song by another.

A lot of my notes about bands in this episode are Fuck That Guy, including the Eagles of Death Metal.

of Death Metal? You knew them? No! I burnt you a CD with only their songs on it.

I would say...

This is somewhere between like Every Time I Die with a little bit of 68 and even some like what's that band called? Eagles of Death Metal or like Queens of the Stone Age, like that desert rock kookiness that they kind of bring in there.

Very much so.

I don't know.

And then, you know, I was kind of going through like the, the catalog on, on Apple music.

But, uh, well, I guess we'll just get to like, you know, the, the latest single lips, um, featuring, uh, Jesse Hughes of Eagles of death metal.

Now, when you've started, you know, in community college recording and stuff like that, you know, was, uh, did you ever see yourself getting to a place where you're actually getting to, uh, collaborate with some of the artists that have inspired you along the way

maybe in my dreams like i was like yeah i don't know when i started i just i really enjoyed it and i was like i have no idea where this is gonna go but you know i did have all these idols and and i listened to eagles of death metal growing up and um Yeah, like it's crazy how how one I was like in the same room with the guy, but also writing a song with them.

And like it's still kind of crazy for me to hear the song.

And then he comes in on the chorus and it's like like I don't know, like I still get kind of I got to pinch myself.

And so they would probably be involved in some way if I had it my way.

But I also like bands like Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles of Death Metal, which is a rock band, not a death metal band at all.

The band Everclear.

Yeah.

In the second video of Massivity, I had my friend Leah Bluestein.

She plays drums in Eagles of Death Metal.

Both of them are great drummers, Shane and Leah.

Leah is just so badass.

If you don't know her, watch her play with Eagles of Death Metal.

She's so solid and groovy and powerful, so focused.

She's got this Instagram page where she's playing, like, Tool and Foo Fighters and Rush and all this stuff, and she just nails it.

Without going off on details on everybody, Leah, I d- Leah Blustein is one of the best rock drummers out there, man.

She, she plays in Eagles of Death Metal.

Yeah, I've known her for years, but we lost contact and, and then I saw her on Facebook, and I didn't know she was in Eagles of Death Metal.

I go, "Who is this? Who is this? She's killer." And I see Leah Blustein.

I'm like, "No way." I wrote her and we...

It was, like, last year and we reconnected.

She came to a show I was playing.

I came to one of her, you know, her Eagles of Death Metal shows.
