tactical aviation role supporting the army.

And we were in this very unique role where we had one customer really, which was, uh, Dwyer Hill.

And, uh, You know, and we worked for the DCDS at the time, which was this sort of ops arm of the military.

And if we got sent out the door, it was the DCDS that sent us out the door in support of JTF2.

Like it doesn't lead to a cohesive unit for sure.

No.

And it, and I'll be honest, it, you know, it wasn't fair at all to the CEOs, like the CEOs during my tenure, because I feel when I took over for whatever reasons, Dwyer Hill was not really using B flight as much as they had in the past.

Okay.

He was offered that position and, but he was also looking to get out, and he made the decision at that time to get out, and then they said, "Hey, would you like to be the f- you know, first ALO at, uh, at JTF2?" And I jumped on that in about five seconds, um, because I could also stay flying f- with them.

But you know, I, I showed up at, uh, at Dwyer Hill, um, as the first air liaison officer, which when you kind of, you know, go anywhere as the first, you're gonna shape whatever it becomes.

Nobody really knows what you're supposed to do for them, but they know they need it.

We've, uh, mentioned Dwyer Hill a couple times.

That's a big name in the Canadian military.

Dwyer Hill was pretty bad.

three, like three out of four or four out of five ended up making it and ended up doing the SOAC and going to Dwyer Hill as assaulters, which is like a very high number.

We were used to seeing in battalion guys leave to go on selection and then come back a couple of days later and they weren't able to really talk about it, but they just didn't make it.

And I found it really intimidating because I was training quite hard, but with people that were way fitter than I was and they were going on selection and coming back and I was like, Oh my God, what are they doing over there? Like, how is this going to be possible? But yeah, when it was my turn, I just was lucky slash stubborn enough that I made it through.

He kicked me out of like the, it was like their headquarters building.

And then I called him outside and he didn't want to come.

And that was the last day of my pass ever worked at Dwyer Hill with JTF2.

I can understand practically that the military needs compliance.

Yeah.

I got to go to Dwyer Hill to do the itchy, scratchy stuff, Robbie Cressman's.

And teaching, demonstrating that there.

I don't want to say teaching, demonstrating that to the boys.

You help a brother out and, you know, you feel pretty good about that.

so in that in that era so 2011 12 time frame yeah um you know the relationship's pretty good between the rcmp and and dwyer hill at that time what what are some of the things that you're doing at the unit at that time with with the rcmp because you guys were active as well there was a lot going on at that time we were rocking and rolling what were some of the things like for viewers that don't understand and this is where i'm i'm kind of shaping this question because there are Canadians that live a very comfortable life.

And they don't realize what good people in uniform are doing on a regular basis to allow that to happen.
