And so just the momentum wasn't there and the momentum of the firm kind of fell away.

The question is that if Gately were to delist, much as DWF did, who would take it over? And it comes exactly back to your point about private equity here, Rich.
Catrin GriffithsHOST
28:04
Could private equity make a better fist of Gately than it is doing so as a listed entity? I probably think it could, because one of the things that was really, really clear from the reporting in this feature is that the ownership of Gately, there are too many small shareholders and some of the institutional shareholders, this is not a major investment for them.

You know, there is definitely a place for a national law firm doing, you know, sort of decently priced work for SMEs and sort of, you know, smaller PLCs and all that kind of stuff.

21:48
You know, we've had DWF and various other firms in the UK that have had sort of, or have got sort of private funding and sort of changed their structures and they haven't done terrifically well it's still you know that big growth still in a partnership model when you're looking at those commercial legal services but you know we this moment though you know I was talking to um Mike Schmittberger who now is running Norm Law AI and we had a global summit a couple of weeks ago and he was he was on a panel and we had a couple of the other AI natives as well and The way they're talking, I think, is very disruptive.
Reena SenGuptaGUEST

The kind of work streams that they are taking away from Big Law is quite instructive.

And, you know, I could see Big Law maybe saying, why are we giving away this work to Norm Law AI? Why don't we create that capacity within ourselves and keep the client within the business? And there's a high, you know, they're going to become high profit margin businesses.
