And I just thought it was terrific.

And it just... as much as I loved it, there was also like a wistfulness to watching it because it just made me think of all we could have gotten from Dwayne McDuffie and what he had to give this industry and what we lost when we lost him.

You know, it's it's there aren't that many geniuses around and he was definitely one of them.

that like you know hardware definitely is is not at all unrelated to dwayne mcduffie's frustrations and experiences working for the big two oh yeah um and and hitting the glass ceiling in the comics world so it's fascinating i wonder if uh timing wise because he he did It's not like he did Milestone and he never worked with the big two again.

I mean, he famously went on to do incredible comics and animation work with DC.

So it almost makes me wonder, does some of this parallel him

And the last black person, I think, was Dwayne McDuffie like 30 years ago.

So, yeah.

But she's amazing.

She popped up again on the Justice League.

Well, she's done that quite frequently, but more prominently when Dwayne McDuffie wrote it for a little while.

Of course, G. Willow Wilson had the short six-issue series that Vixen, the only series that Vixen has ever had, Return of the Night.

And then there was a short one-shot rebirth with Steve Orlando and Jodie Houser.

Okay, so I will say this is also, guys, notable moment here where we get this establishment of damage control as this kind of like evil superhero ice.

Very different from Dwayne McDuffie's original vision.

And as we will see... sort of very important to where we end up in Brand New Day.

I do also wonder if this is sort of like this, Ms. Marvel, this era.

So Dwayne McDuffie uses her with a bunch of tech-based villains in his Deathlock series in 91.

She gets captured by the Mecha-Duel, but she's not a big part of it.

Then we get the early 2000s Defenders.

Absolutely.

First and foremost, I would point them in the direction of Dwayne McDuffie one shots.

Those are great little one and done entries to the character, get to the heart of her.

Aside from that, anything that Al Ewing has written.

stupid and just saying that run of Black Panther.
