A man wanted in connection with a string of serious and violent crimes has been fatally wounded in a shootout with police in the north of Durban.

Police say the man was being sought in connection with murder, attempted murder, kidnapping and house robberies.

He was tracked to a house on Indamande Road in Inanda last night.

He was at three last night.
