Dungeon crawl

I've really gotten into lit RPG, so just books based around video games.

Oh, nice, yeah.

And one of them being Dungeon Crawler Carl, and this really kind of tickles the Dungeon Crawler Carl bit of my brain.

Nice.

And the strange body horror, because...

So I can't wait to play it.

To kind of piggyback off of that, the last thing I want to talk about from the main stage that has big AA vibes is Warlock Dungeons &

Dragons.

Oh, 100%, yeah.

It's literally just called Fighter.

Now, don't get me wrong.

Warlock Dungeons and Dragons looks like it's fun.

But we both found two different, um, Dungeon Crawler Carl versions.

Um, there's one-

Dungeon Crawler Carl?

I can't wait till they get to The Meatball.

Like that is a negative experience for the players.

Or, you know, just thinking of dungeon crawlers.

Peter and I tend to have pretty negative reactions to dungeon crawlers that have you doing, like, really basic actions that you were doing at the beginning of the game and you're still doing at the end of the game.

We much more gravitate...

You know, Gloomhaven has unique, cool actions.

All right, we were talking about dungeon crawlers in the last episode and we're talking about Osworn and all those games.

I'm very excited.

X-Crawl, just for the quick elevator pitch, take one part Dungeon Crawl, one part WWE, and a small dash of The Price is Right, put them in a blender, and serve it to your players.

And that's what you

got.

But before Dungeon Crawler Carl, this came first.

But yes, it's very much

So that was an old, old school adventure.

And maybe I've got Dungeon Crawls on my brain.

I don't know.

And so I...

So yeah, always excellent to hear from our regular guest co-host, Ennis.

But yeah, I bring up that comic store because one other thing I found there was a little board game called Dungeon Eater, a Delicious in Dungeon board game by a little artist, by a little designer called Seiji Kanai, who many will know from Love Letter.

But I haven't had a chance to try this out yet.

I'm a big fan of the manga and the anime Delicious in Dungeon or Dungeon Meshi.

People might know it as.

But I was curiously reading through the rulebook and there was a note in the back that this game is based on a much older game from 1988 called Monster Maker.

But Seiji Kanae, I'm a fan of some of his other games, like some of his lesser known games of Trick Takers.

So very, very curious.
