So I watched from 2016 the movie Warcraft based on the video game directed by Duncan Jones, Mike.

Really? Yeah, blew my mind.

I did not know that was his.

Yeah.

The stepmother of director Duncan Jones, who, by the way, went to college here in Ohio at Worcester.

Really?

Mm-hmm.

We have that.

I'm very pleased with that because Duncan Jones, who made Moon, got the joke and really loved it.

There's a wonderful new film out.

It's part of the, the, the, the London Film Festival this week called Rogue Trooper, directed by the genius that is Duncan Jones.

But it, it harks back to one of the seminal characters in the 2000 and AD canon.

And I always, when I think about tobacco, think about that 2000 AD and an old comic strip in which, uh, they, they, they kind of had, I think they were called smokatoriums or something like that.

I thought it was still a work in progress.

Rogue Trooper, which is Duncan Jones' first film since Mute...

And it's based off the 2000 AD comics, like Judge Dredd and all that.

And he's been working on it for over a decade.

There's Duncan Jones's new film, Rogue Trooper, which is an animation based on 2000 AD, which sounds quite exciting.

And there's a science fiction called Alpha Gang, starring Lea Seydoux, Dave Bautista and Lily Rose Depp and Cate Blanchett, about an alien gang coming to Earth to conquer, but finding the human world has a plague they weren't ready for.

Oh, OK. Yeah.

i mean at this point that is kind of old but um i i was always under the impression that it was directed by danny boyle

No, it's Duncan Jones.

And when I realized it wasn't Danny Boyle, it was literally right now because I was Googling it.

And I was like, okay, I'm not just going to Google Moon.

So I Googled Moon.

Today's movie review is for Moon.

In the 2009 film Moon, directed by Duncan Jones, we are introduced to a gripping tale set in a not-too-distant future where Earth's energy crisis has been resolved by mining helium-3 from the moon.

The story follows Sam Bell, played by Sam Rockwell, a contract worker nearing the end of his three-year stint at a lunar station.

His only companion is Gertie, an artificial intelligence voiced by Kevin Spacey, who assists him in his daily tasks.

The film takes a dramatic turn when Sam crashes his lunar rover while inspecting a harvester and wakes up in the station's infirmary.

Upon his recovery, he discovers another version of himself, leading to a series of revelations about his identity and the true nature of his mission.

Moon is a masterclass in minimalist storytelling, with Duncan Jones crafting a narrative that is both thought-provoking and suspenseful.

The film's visual design, courtesy of Tony Noble and Clint Mansell's haunting score, create an atmosphere that is both eerie and captivating.
