When you're in that bad a space where you want to act on it, time can be critical.

Duncan BrownGUEST
It made me realise that we are not going to improve the quality of patient care until we improve the work environment or the quality of those that are giving the care and expecting people just to be better and smile and be compassionate.

Duncan BrownGUEST
And I mean, there are some patients that are, you know, it's fair to say there's some not nice people and yet you have to, but their work environments are unreasonable environments.

Duncan BrownGUEST
And so I realised that the only way that will improve the quality of care is really helping those that are giving the care and making it better and easier.

Duncan BrownGUEST
And so that's when I picked up that research and I went, right, I'm going to run with this now because the role of the care environment role.

It, it is quite labor-intensive, but, you know, we, we've got the benefit is there's a, a kind of small core team that have been thinking about this for a while.

Duncan BrownGUEST
And they knew the perfect piece of road because they're competitors, and they hadn't really organized anything.

Duncan BrownGUEST
So just by chance we ended up marshaling together on a Targa rally, and then thought, "Okay, there's a realistic chance we'll give this a go." So, um, probably three years ago, uh, maybe the first real conversation started.

Duncan BrownGUEST
And then we probably reached out beyond the kind of four or five of us maybe a year and a half ago to speak to parish councilors, people like that.

Duncan BrownGUEST
Um, and then so the technical bit, you know, you know, doing, designing the safety measures, doing the road book and all that kind of stuff, that's started maybe six months ago.
