Yeah, it is interesting.

I mean, it's, it's part of what I think is such a brilliant intervention of A Darker Wilderness because, you know, Dudley Randall feels like he's doing Audre Lorde a favor when he's like, "Yeah, she writes about nature in this way and nature in this way and nature, but she's not a nature poet, though." It's as like, "So you should still read it, everybody," [laughs] you know, in the Black Arts Movement.

Um, and it wasn't until I think I was on, like, some Sierra Club list of, like, nature writers or something that I was like, "Oh, I'm a nature writer? And, you know, here I have a whole book about marine mammals." But, like, it's, it so speaks to what that category has been used for and what...

You know, obviously this intervention and interventions by, um, you know, some of, some of our admired, um, elders.

It's like, what, what is that supposed to mean? You know? Like, it's, it's an insult-

... to the planet to think that what Dudley Randall thought nature writing was, which was basically, like, irrelevant imaginings of patriarchs, [laughs] you know?
