But I think the most interesting part about this is that the Wave reportedly paid a around six-figure fee to acquire Bonansea, which I felt like was a lot for a loan.

But I think that given the news that we're gonna talk about later about Cat Macario and Dudinha's ACL injury, this to me feels more like a short-term band-aid option that is very much reliable and very much has the world-class pedigree that we'd expect from a Macario and Dudinha.

Maybe not at that same level anymore, but I think that having this option, again, and I think this goes back to a lot of the business we're seeing at the tail end of the window, where teams are trying to plug in holes.

And I think it's ha- we have to remember, it's hard to pitch a player to sign on to these short little projects when knowing when a team like the Wave, for instance, has players like Macario and Dudinha waiting in the wings to return from injury.

And so I think that for Bonansea getting this opportunity to play in the US on a loan that allows the Wave to bring in this elite world-class talent without having to trigger that massive net transfer cap penalty we spoke about earlier, it makes a lot of sense.

I think that this move for the Wave is a very astute signing, having her not just for this year's playoff push, but going forward for the beginning of the 2026 season.
