The first contest I did go to see was at the end of summer in 81.

But they were still like Dwayne was still in it and Andrecht.

Brad was not there.

And I don't think I don't recall Doug Saladino or Ray Bones being in the car.

Yeah.

I have some Super 8 footage of that contest kind of chopped up.

But there were people like Andrek, Losi, Christian, who was still a little kid, Dwayne Peters, and, of course, Steve Caballero, my hero.

I have full-run footage of Stevie, and I have just like... one trick of everybody everybody else it's like i gotta save my just yeah yeah it's like this but i do have a nice slow motion footage of todd joseph doing the layback air roll around let me roll around in the invert so that you know of course seeing that sequence in the magazine and then seeing him do it in person was like oh i got to get a slow motion thing that's

I was mixing up with

Parsons.

And that record was from a band called Black Flag.

And you know what? I went home to my skateboard, and it was a Dwayne Peters skateboard also.

And I had every excuse in the world from that moment on to do whatever I wanted to.

I was young, I was a punk rock kid, and I was a skateboarder, which means I can be drunk all the time, I can spray paint or break whatever I want to, and it's a lifestyle.
