DSEI

What are the priorities of the UK's most senior military officer? Air Chief Marshal Sir Rich Knighton launches defence exhibition DSEI with a stark warning, we have to be faster than our adversaries.

We'll look into how we can win that race and what industry needs to do to keep up.

There's a lot of investment money out there looking for a home.

We can't cope with the previous pace of procurement.

This is SITREP with Kate Chabot and Professor Michael Clarke.

Those of us who follow defence closely will be aware of some of the themes emerging from the official launch of the World Biennial Defence Event, DSEI.

It's the coming together of military and industry for a gathering that's expected to attract 65,000 people.

It's also very high on the priority list of the Chief of Defence Staff, who's been closely... involved in choosing the themes for next year's exhibition.

Okay, let's, uh, come on to the idea of an integrated force then.

Uh, so first of all, this is the website of, uh, DSEI UK.

It's a biannual defense held at the ExCeL Center in London.

It draws around 65,000 visitors and 1,700 exhibiting companies.

Describes itself as pivotal, pivotal event for the global defense industry as the flagship defense event for the UK.

DSEI UK promotes the UK's defense ethos, agenda, and leadership while encouraging opportunity and cooperation with our global allies.

And Charles, uh, looking at the video header of the DSEI website, just put it back on screen there if we can.

Uh, this looks to me like a bunch of children playing with toys, and the tragedy is these toys kill people, increasingly automatically.
