And for a while, I actually stopped playing music because the children were small and you know yourself, it kind of... other things take precedence but it was when they started doing music lessons when they were probably six or seven years old at the local cultist branch in Clontarf that I'd start meeting musicians I'd known from from before I had children and they would sort of say oh we play a session in the cobblestone on a Tuesday night or whatever you should come along and so i started getting back into it then as my as my children started getting into it and then it was really nice to play with them in the kitchen as well as they started learning tunes and yeah so that was a great way of getting back into the music but i was still in dublin at the time and the thought of making the instruments was still a long way away because even though i was a carpenter and had the skills I would never have been able to afford a workshop in Dublin in order to start making them.
