By twenty twenty-five and after the current, uh, UCC IT systems, uh, are fully implemented, that was reduced to a hundred and eleven con-connections, huh? So we are still talking about a highly fragmented landscape across the EU.

Yeah, indeed.

And, uh, and I think the consequences are also real, uh, Pieter.

Also, if you look at the entry process, uh, just importing products into the EU, um, well, traders must provide a whole set of data to the customs authorities.

It's about commercial data, sales data, um, logistics related data, customs data, and, uh, you do that in different steps, huh? So before the goods are even loaded in, uh, loaded or arrive in the, in the Union upon presentation to customs authorities, um, when goods are temporarily stored, um, when they are brought onto the market, or even you have a whole range of other special customs procedures, which also bring a lot of complexity.
4:00
And I think there, when you look at it today, not only from a systems perspective, but also the way that customs authorities locally, even regionally, um, uh, process, uh, yeah, customs declarations, you see all sorts of practices.
4:14
So, uh, different ways of working.

Um, this creates EU-wide governance and intelligence sharing while national customs authorities continue to enforce customs rules within their territories.
