Drew Wagner

We saw two running backs lined up, um, kind of out to the right of the QB.

We saw the arena football set where Wagner's, uh, deep.

I, like we, we, we saw, we saw the wing T.

We saw everything.

[laughs]

Is he just trying stuff out? Is he trying to see some look? Is he folding it? It, it's, it's hilarious.

To best sum this up, there was a play where I think, and an eagle-eyed person noticed this, I think at well after the fact, but I believe, I think it was on Wagner's big run.

I think it was either Wagner, but it might have been Ricky Amarazzi lost his play sheet-

On the first drive, the, the player for...

Like A, we ran the weird arena football formation where Drew Wagner is like 20, 20 yards behind the, the line of scrimmage.

We ran the pistol.

We ran shotgun with like true shock, shotgun spread with 11 personnel.

I don't, I don't think it's...

I think it's just designed to, to like break somebody's brain.

'Cause on like the first time we ran it, Penn State forgot to cover Drew Wagner and he got, caught a six-yard pass.

The second time we ra- we ran it, they literally forgot to cover Komolafe.

lost.

But there were some wrinkles that was in there with Drew Wagner.

And I remember Coach Pete was like, you need to ask him what this is about or whatever, because it was like there was some there was some funky stuff going on.

And then all of a sudden it was like, oh, now you turn the page on it.

I really do.

Uh, Drew Wagner is currently the second most targeted wide receiver on the team, 15 targets.

Um, the only thing that I will advise you is his ADOT is a little low, but he's got a role in the offense.

He's $4,100.

Mm-hmm.

And they never really, they never really went to the outside, with the exception of the, of the weird arena football play where they lined up Wagner, like, 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage, which was very strange.

I, like, I don't actually think it was this, but the whole first half was almost like a bait and switch.

Yeah.

It was...

Yeah, and then, like, the thing with, you know, the, the eccentric genius kind of thing.

Whatever that Drew Wagner thing was, 10, that's a fever dream now.

Yeah.

Now, there is one other guy that has nine targets on the team.

It is Drew Wagner.

He is not the kind of expected name here.

but he's been involved in both games.

71-yard catch.

Drew Wagner, three catches from 43 yards.

Griffin Wild actually played at South Dakota State before this.

He was at Northwestern.

Drew Wagner has been with the program for multiple years.

Has never really been a mainstay.

Last year was his best year, 22 for 172.
