Drew Stanton

... still close to this day.

We were talking to Drew Stanton about this-

Travis

... uh, last week.

Phil

And, uh-

... yeah.

I was live on my weekend show on Westwood One Sports, w- which I do on Saturdays, and it happened during the show.

So we, we loved it, Drew, right? For the final two hours of the show, we just got to-

Oh, I bet, I bet you did, yeah

... speculate as new information was coming out.

Do you guys ever watch the thing between Shams and Woj and this like desperate need-

Yeah, that, that, that was kinda ugly

... dude, and the desperate need to be first, Drew-

Yeah.

Doesn't it? Geez, yes.

I remember the games when Drew Stanton was the quarterback in Arizona.

And Bobby Ross was going for two for no apparent reason.

Oh, I forgot about that game.

I said yesterday, savor every one of these because they're gonna be a distant memory in the not too distant future.

We have a lot of guests planned for you, including Drew Stanton, who we haven't had on for a while.

He's gonna join us in the 5:00 hour.

But we wanna go out to our guest line and start with Tony Garcia of the Detroit Free Press.

We're gonna talk to him about those two teams that meet Saturday afternoon, 3:30 at Spartan Stadium.

We'll be right back with that and more.

Drew Stanton coming up in the 5:00 hour.

It's The Drive with Jack on the Spotlight Radio Network.

What was that story like? Tell us that.

[laughs] We had, we had, uh, you know, we had with COVID players you could add COVID players, so I got Drew Stanton as my fourth quarterback, who knew the offense inside and out, and he came in and, uh, I said, okay, I called Pat.

I said, "Hey, man, can you kick?" He said, "Yeah." I said, "Well, I might sign you as my, my COVID kicker.

You only need to just get in shape, and you don't have to come down here.

Don't let him beat you with his feet.

But like they did with Drew Stanton, when they tried to rush Stanton, they kept in their lane, and that time they covered with seven, and they made Robinson into a bad throw.

Line of scrimmage, the 29, Jeremy Kapanos in to putt it away to Steve Preston, standing on his 25.

The left footer hangs another beauty up high.

The final there, 35-24, San Antonio home, five catches for 149 yards and two touchdowns.

And Troy Smith, 10-15 for 249 yards and three touchdowns as the quarterback.

For the Ohio State Buckeyes, Drew Stanton, a great day for the Spartans, 26-36 for 342 yards and one touchdown in the air.

He also rushed 14 times for 59 yards.
