Drew French

Miguel Cairo seemingly did a great job with Kobe Mayo and CES.

Like Drew French and that pitching coaching staff has just been incredible over the past few years.

Like y- you know, the guys love Buck Britton and, and y- the Orioles really like having him in that space.

Like y- you know, do you wanna move on from Jason Bourgeois maybe because he was, you know, the big guy on, on base running and the outfield defense, and those two things really lacked this year.

Povich has some ride on that fastball, which is why even when it clocks around 90, 91, he's still able to get some swing and miss on it.

And I gotta say, uh, whoever was calling this game early on, whether it is Samuel Basallo or Drew French or Craig Albernaz telegraphing signs, uh, straight to jail in the top of the second.

After a 23 pitch first inning in which Povich was able to get out of it unscathed, you're feeling pretty good about the O's chances.

All that matters for Cade is the next week of his career.

And Chorio blasts this to center field for a three-run bomb.

A weaver.

Then Drew French [laughs] he waits for another hitter.

Bryce Turang takes a slider in the heart of the play, and then he hits a single, and that's when Drew French go- he always comes out two batters too late.

And they played it as a promotion, but everything I heard it, it ...

He was still an important part of the organization, but, you know, they promoted Drew French to big league pitching coach, and it was almost kind of a demotion for Chris Holt, and he was let go after one season in that role.

And I think he's been a bullpen coach maybe in Boston for the last couple years since then.

And everything I had heard about the Orioles and Chris Holt, they were just not super happy with some things going on with him in the Major League pitching coach role.

But if you look at the remaining five, I mean, I know we're not done yet, but you look at the remainder of the season from that point forward, starting pitching stepped up.

I was like, the biggest critic of Drew French.

I was like, this guy, I don't know how the hell this guy stayed around.

Well, I got to give him credit.

this year.

And I don't...

And people were blaming whatever Drew French every now and then.

But like last year, of course, Matt Borg-Schulte, they let him go.

And from there, started leaving pitches in the heart of the plate, gave up a single to Hanau.

Uh, Drew French then takes a mound visit and, uh, gives up a double off the wall to Patrick Bailey.

Hanau scoring from first base, uh, made it an 8-5 game, and at that point, the Guardians are back in striking distance.

Manager Craig Albernaz has nothing else to do except pull his starter at 100 pitches even.
