Dreams

We went to karaoke, which was a dance floor in the middle of one of the cruise's bars/restaurants.

And she chose Dreams by Fleetwood Mac, one of the songs she studied with her teacher.

Instead of our advice to leave it all on the stage, she instead clammed up and mumbled her way through the song.

Nothing like what she can do.

[laughs]

Like, "I do not want Stevie to hear what I'm actually gonna say." [laughs] Stevie wrote Dreams right after hearing Go Your Own Way demoed in the studio, and she's responding directly to some of the things that he was saying in that song.

The dialogue that was occurring between these artists is really amazing, and that they had to work up courage to actually, like, sing these things out loud to each other, it just adds a layer to everything.

We're totally booked.

Um, but it's interesting to me.

You know, that's kind of an, a narrative that was pushed for years around this, you know, dynamic of the band that, you know, Stevie was a great lyricist but maybe not as much of a composer or thinking it through all the arrangements.

But if you listen to something like the demo of Dreams, which is stunning, um, it's her alone on this, you know, little keyboard working out the song.

You can hear in her head there's rhythms pulsing through it.

Right.

And Dreams is almost eerily calm.

It's that Crystal

Visions line for me, dude.

That guy has really lived a tortured existence.

Think about it.

Dreams.

He wrote the music to Dreams, man.
