Drake Stubbs

Like specifically against number one outside receivers, Florida's outside corners have really struggled all year, and I won't be able to pronounce his name, but Donovan Olugbode or whatever.

I mean, him g- going in and getting that first score, granted I think that was more a mistake on Drake Stubbs than Ben Hanks, although Ben Hanks tried to give him kind of a push off, a jam in cover two, and it, it wasn't very good.

But Stubbs bit.

He came down and should've been back in deep half coverage to defend that Um, but it was predictable that he was gonna go in and have that game, 'cause Deuce Alexander did the same thing, KeShawn Singleton did the same thing.

I'm talking about whatever the hell Javari Flowers did on that touchdown.

I'm talking about whatever the hell Drake Stubbs did, which I said this on Saturday.

I said this during the game.

I said it Saturday after the game.

I don't think that it was just Drake Stubbs making a bad play.

I think he didn't know what his job was.

I think he was doing something different than what everybody else was doing.

I don't think it was like, oh, I'm doing my job, and I know my job.

You have two really solid starters in Thornton and DJ Coleman.

But with Thornton out there, not able to play today, Florida had to look at Drake Stubbs and Alphonso Allen.

And I do think that, I'm sorry, I'm going to sneeze here a little bit.

So ignore me.

What will Florida do defensively? It's a huge question.

You hope that for Bryce Thornton, the lower body injury that he was dealing with really quickly before the game, a peculiar thing happened in pregame warm-ups.

You hope that it's short-term, but if it is long-term or he misses a couple of games... you're going to have to rely on a secondary that's going to need to grow up quickly guys like cam dooley and you know dj coleman has been really good for florida but who do they turn to is it alfonso allen who i thought you know was a physical tackler but someone who you know is is un relatively unproven still in a sense here you know played played a good bit last season but isn't really he obviously doesn't have the experience of a guy like bryce thornton you saw drake stubbs get in there as well who hasn't really been a huge factor for florida during the start of his tenure here, will he get elevated opportunities? Laganza Hayward, who Florida played a good bit at star nickelback tonight as well, he could be in the equation for elevated playing time.

But they're going to need to have to grow up quickly, or else, like I keep saying, this loss is going to spiral into multiple losses, and then our expectations are going to be much lower for this team moving forward.
