It was just a hair under one point per possession, which again, for a rookie, especially with his surrounding talent, I think is super, super impressive.

Drake Powell continues to be a guy that I find tantalizing just from a raw talent standpoint.

I wish with his athletic traits that he produced more on the margins, like more deflections, more steals, more rebounds.

But he does have this like wiggle in his game and this tight handle.

And It's so bad.

Like, I mean, granted one of these second year guys might pop to some degree, but like, like who, I mean, is it, is it Troy time? Drake Powell time? I don't,

I don't think

so.

Julius' driving and on-ball scoring and then MPJ's cutting and movement shooting are Those are going to be the fulcrums of this Nets offense, the things that the Nets are going to be able to lean on on a night-in, night-out basis.

And they're going to need to carry a substantial load, as I said, because any time that you're playing with young guards, rookie guards, I mean, that's Yegor and Mikel, and then you could also throw Ben Seroff and Nolan Schroer and Drake Powell.

There's just a ton of youth and inexperience in the backcourt that I think is going to lead to fairly inconsistent production offensively out of that position group so Julius and MPJ are going to be the guys and I think that they're going to complement each other fairly well I mean we've seen it with Julius and MPJ that you know though both of those guys I think have concrete skills Julius obviously the slashing the mid post scoring the on ball scoring and then we saw how much of a weapon Jordy Fernandez was able to make MPJ's off ball movement last year and You know, MPJ, that's pretty much curtailed the entire offense of MPJ flying off of these zoom actions, curling into threes, cutting back door, running these split actions with Dave Ron Sharp, Nick Claxton, their other big men getting easy looks that way.

MPJ just sealing when defenders were top lock, top locking him.

That is the projected Nets starting backcourt.

And we saw last season, and we've seen it throughout the NBA for a long time, a really good way to ensure that you struggle as a team is to have a very young backcourt, rookie point guards, really young guards.

And the Nets have that a lot with Yegor Djelman, Michael Brown Jr., Ben Seroff, Drake Powell.

Nolan Troy like a lot of first and second year guards almost exclusively first and second year guards and you look at Yegor and Michael as the head of the snake those guys are going to have to carry a fairly significant load and they're going to have to be positive impact contributors like they're going to have to be a net positive and Yegor was able to do that last season albeit on a very bad Nets team that was tanking so the bench obviously wasn't that good but both of those guys and Yegor and Michael are going to have to do that this year and I feel like If we're starting on the offensive end of the floor, the biggest thing for me with those guys is they're going to have to shoot the ball at a high level like that.
