We'll start with you on this one, Mr. Malissi.

While the three of you are running for the two Lowell seats on that school board, you'll also, those of you who are Bridge Victorious, will be representing students and families in Dracut, Dunstable, and Tingsborough.

And those folks get to vote in this election as well.

They combine for about 28% of the school's population at last check.

The whole regional school system is kind of interesting.

They're not all equal.

I've gotten calls from Dracut, and I respond to those constituent issues regularly.

shedding them right to the proper person at the school to address the particular inquiry.

So these are the discussions that the city councils have to have.

But this one particularly jumped out to me when I saw it on the agenda because it takes me back about a decade ago to a discussion with Dracut when Dracut was looking for some override money because of these types of things, staffing in the fire department and this and that.

And I remember, Chad, I forget who the fire chief was at the time, but I remember having this discussion.

I wondered, if you look at how many calls your fire departments come to, the percentage of them that are fires, real fires, as opposed to false alarms, very, very small.

And we never really solved it because the easiest answer to assure that they'd be safe and Narcan would be served was the fire department.

Sure.

I would question how, because as I was having this discussion with the folks in Dracut, I asked, well, why does the fire truck have to respond to a car accident on Lakeview Avenue and Pleasant Street? And the answer was, well, we carry the jaws of life.

If you need to extract somebody, you carry the jaws of life.

The edges of farms.

I was at a farm up in Dracut.

We spent the weekend up in Dracut, my mother-in-law's, and went to this farm, you know, hay rides for the kids and whatever.

And I sneak away.

I got my binoculars.

Yeah.

My whole family lives, uh, Tingsborough, Dracut.

Yeah.

My dad's, uh, well, my dad's in Hudson now.

They're going to be on the ballot on November 3rd when you head on out there and vote.

I did.

So I stayed as an independent with a lot of people saying you should run as an independent.

Now, we've had conversations.

And by the way, I was I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that the district of the first Middlesex, Dracut, Lowell, Tingsborough, Pepperell and Dunstable.

74.7% are unenrolled, independent voters, right? And there's all kinds of information out there that people say, oh, it's because they get their license and they just throw them as independents.
