And that constant check on his personality, his sort of grandiosity in reference to himself, is such a enjoyable part of that book for me.
K
13:45KateHOST
And I think something that does really set it apart from something like Lolita or even something like Frankenstein to go back to an earlier sort of inspiration there.
K

27:34CodyHOST
That really like tense story.
C
27:36CodyHOST
atmospheric sort of horror i'm not so much into the the jump scares and the the gore and all that kind of stuff i prefer something that makes me feel uncomfortable over something that makes me feel um just scared for lack of a better term and i think weathering heights really did that and i think that's part of what's so frustrating about there not being a good adaptation of because i think it really ends up misrepresenting a lot of what that novel is really working at Frankenstein's the same way.
C
28:01CodyHOST
I think Frankenstein adaptations almost always miss the point and always kind of are focused on the wrong area for what's making this story truly a terrifying experience.

But when you start commingling some of those industries where it's like, oh yeah, Guillermo del Toro got $65,000 to make, or $350 million to make the new Frankenstein movie on Netflix.

I'm thinking of other actors or other directors right now who are out there doing stuff.
C
47:08Corey MorissetteHOST
Guillermo del Toro, I hold in pretty high regard as Frankenstein is brilliant, but even he's not Chris Nolan kind of level.
C
47:16Corey MorissetteHOST
He's like the A tier.
C
47:17Corey MorissetteHOST
And then on the B tier, there's a lot that are close to him.
