Dr. Daniel 'Dan' Challis

They thought they could do anything with the holiday and turn what began as a knife movie into something closer to Tales From the Crypt, The Twilight Zone, or Night Gallery.

This film stars Tom Atkins as Dr. Challis and Dan O'Herlihy as businessman Conrad Cochran.

Set days before Halloween, kids across America clamor for one-of-a-kind Halloween masks produced by the mask-making company, the Silver Shamrock Company.

Challis, teaming with Ellie, played by Stacey Nelkin, the daughter of a shopkeeper who was killed while clutching one of these hot-off-the-shelves Halloween masks, set off to discover the reason for her father's death and uncover the secret plot organized by Cochran that has everything to do with Halloween and these sacred masks.

Now, at the time of its release, it was the lowest grossing film in the series, bringing in just $14.6 million worldwide.

Critically, the film was panned, and audiences openly rejected Season of the Witch for many reasons, including, as I mentioned at the top, the lack of Michael Myers.

Loomis, has a clear purpose in that film.

We know why he's there.

The man arrives, faints saying, "They're coming," just like Melissa says, and he holds a pumpkin mask.

Um, and that's where we meet Dr. Challis.

Dr. Challis shows up half in the bag-

[laughs]

... with, at his ex-wife's house.

Right.

Okay.

We got, uh, Dr. Challis, like I said, arrives, he's half drunk.

Kids all over America want Silver Shamrock masks for Halloween.

Dr. Daniel Challis seeks to uncover a plot by Silver Shamrock owner Conal Cochran.

Of course, the OG is a masterpiece, but this is my second favorite entry in the franchise, and the score is fucking amazing and even comes with a countdown to the most holy of holiest days, Halloween

Halloween[eerie music] You don't really know much about Halloween.
