Dover-Eyota High School

There's still one game left, and that'll be next Tuesday.

A tough Dover-Yoda team comes in.

This past week, you played Wednesday against Goodhue.

Any team coached by Tony Ponce could be awfully good.

And like we said all along, getting good humans out of this program is our number one goal, and I think we've got two of them coming out of here.

That's what it's all about, that's for sure.

Before we chat with the young men, let's get your thoughts on the Dover-Yoda Eagles.

They're 5-2.

I- I'll start out.

I think, uh, I'm gonna go with Rushford-Peterson versus Dover-Eyota.

Um, both these teams heading into this having great seasons.

Rushford-Peterson I think is just gaining momentum all the time.

I think a lot, a lot of people will be able to watch in that one.

So what else you got?

So yeah, I mean, we go Cal-Chatfield, uh, Rushford-Peterson, Dover-Eyota, you know, those two, and then we're gonna head to...

Let's go to Springf- or Spring Grove and Lanesboro.

Yeah, uh, that's me.

Dover-Eyota, do they have a chance at winning the section? Because right now people would say, prior to last night, people would have said Rushford-Peterson is the clear second best team.

They, their only loss was in overtime to Caledonia.

But I'm looking at this Dover-Eyota schedule, and they've got two losses.

One of them feels kind of fluky.

They beat Chatfield 20 to zero.

They lost to Caledonia 21-0.

Other than that, all wins, including 47 to zero over Triton, 47-0, and then 21-7 over Rushford-Peterson.

Dover-Eyota, Caledonia/Chatfield.

That would take...

You'd almost, like, when scheduling that, that would take a little bit of extra effort, but maybe something they could make work.

Good call, 'cause Lake City's got Randolph coming down the stretch.

Red Wing will play Goodhue and Dover-Eyota.

Oh, that's gonna be tough.

It's so loaded.

And then Caledo- or Chatfield's still a good team.

Dover-Eyota's still a good team.

You're forgetting about Rushford.

Was our last loss Cotter? Yeah.

So it was Schaefer, Lake City, Casson, Dover-Eyota, uh, that's it.

And then you had a Lake City win, and another win in there.

Lake City was a win.

Dover-Eyota was a win.

[laughs] All right, uh, best field, or pitch, or stadium to play at with the w- not necessarily the, what you like, but maybe the best view? 'Cause we've had some debate on the, the football stadium that the one in Elgin is the best around.
