Dougal MacKenzie

So this week, we're going to be talking or dealing, talking about...

The aftermath of Julia dealing with the murder of Seema, Helen being taken to Castle Leathers, Brian and Murtaugh attempting to rescue Dougal and Angus at Fort William.

Goddamn, Fort William, come back.

Right? Along with Henry and Arch being besties.

The most ungrateful person.

I think like just I could not.

Dougal is just lucky he's hot.

That's about it.

And she feels really bad.

Colm asks Ned, how many times do we have to have this conversation about my sister? And Ned says, well, at least she was able to warn Dougal.

Colm says, God knows where he is.

And even if they had enough men, you know, they couldn't send anyone after her, Ned said.

there were women that would find a man that was their husband they were really yeah yeah that was that was happening as well i was just like the mood is so sad and awful um obviously but if you have professional mourners it's going to be even more awful yeah they're like

making it worse really

yikes But Colm asks, and Maura, they ask, you know, to check the ledger for Dougal.

He's not on there.

All right.

In this episode, Brian, Murtaugh, Dougal, they're at war.

Everybody's at war, to be honest.

Everybody but the ladies are at war for the most part.

Oh, my God.

OK, so and Henry and also Brian get to see each other on on the battlefield.

Dougal gets mad because his side won't stop, won't keep fighting.

So then he just decides to come up with his own idea where he's just like, fine, I'm going to take some guys and let's go do our own thing.

It is what it is, Brian.

And Brian, Murtaugh, and Dougal are all fighting with the Jacobites along with Clan Grant.

And I, this felt like boys playing at war.

Yeah.

Like, I get, but like people are dying, right? And I feel like this young Dougal is a lot less empathetic, which I feel like that says a lot for older Dougal.

He's not empathetic at all.

But this young Dougal, no awareness whatsoever.

Yeah.

Plus...

Dougal makes some seriously questionable decisions.

Henry and Brian find themselves on opposite sides of the battlefield and nobody is getting out of this one without a little emotional damage.

So settle in, grab a dram because you're going to need it and let's get into it.

It's just a fact.

It's just a statement.

Someone says, so is it just me and certainly not intended by the show or producers, but Myrta, Arch, Bug and Dougal, I am far more attracted to over Brian and Henry.

Yes.

Simon has made a bargain with the Duke of Argyle to reclaim his lands and title.

And he just wants to kill Dougal's forces.

Okay.

Brian gets up to his dad and he's like, yo, what are you doing? And Lord Lovett's like, obviously the best idea ever.

Just

like the Bushes.

And then Brian and Ellen, they find Dougal and they let him know.

And he's pissed and he kills all the McKinneys.

Awkward doesn't even begin to cover it.

Meanwhile, Ellen and Grace are on a mission across the Highlands to find Brian and Dougal before Lord Lovett's sneaky little betrayal gets them all killed.

And Ellen has some news for Brian that might just change everything.

We've got reunions, revelations, Jacobite politics, questionable family loyalties and enough emotional damage to keep the Fraser and Beecham family trees in therapy for generations.

Henry is struggling with the effects of his traumatic experiences and significant gaps in his memory, while Julia grapples with the complicated reality of having her husband back.

With secrets, shifting loyalties and the shadow of Seema hanging over their reunion, finding their way back to the life they once shared proves far more complicated than either could have imagined.

While Ellen and Grace embark on a desperate mission across the Highlands to find Brian and Dougal before Lord Lovett's scheming puts them all in further danger...

As the political tensions surrounding the Jacobite cause continue to escalate, Ellen is forced to confront the consequences of the choices she has made and a major revelation threatens to change everything for her and Brian.

She tells him about McKinney, uh, ambushing Leoch and the Duke of Argyll had promised Lovat that his title would be restored and that's why he's changing sides.

Um, she's also telling him that Lovat plans to ambush Dougal and th- they both are like, "We have to stop this.

This is not good." Um, and then Brian kisses her before leaving with Murtagh.

I like the point where she's like, you know, talking about McKinney ambushing Leoch and then she's-

He asks the men to leave.

Um, he says, "Tell me it's not true.

You've sold yourself to Argyll and divided our forces to kill Dougal, an ally who trusted you." And Lovett's like, "I know, I owe nothing to the Mackenzies.

Um, they stole what was mine." And he says he's gonna give back his titles, and there will be enough even for his bastard son to hold a title.
