I remember Doug Richardson having a conversation with him and telling me that he was one of the last studio hires like the you know it was like one of the last ones he had that job and then but i also did see his name in your book too your ebook um when he sold um hellbent and back right um and i remember him telling me about that spec script that he sold but it's also so interesting when you look at the list of specs so many are movies you all are going to recognize so many

Well, I mean, this is a question that I always get asked, which is, you know, how many movies get made from specs? Like, you know, but for example, I've got just a few of Up in the Air.

You remember the movie Up in the Air? That was a spec.

I'm writing a novel now.

It doesn't mean that I won't write a script one day and who knows who the hell knows, but I think about the people I met along the way.

I think about your friendship, Scott, your friendship, Sadie, your Doug Richardson, Tom Shulman, people who I was breaking story with on the phone for my little country home in upstate New York, like to get those life experiences and, man wouldn't trade it for the world.

And so don't forget when you're out there writing that there's, you're living, you're living it, you're doing it and celebrate every little tiny win, you know, whatever, but, and just enjoy it.
