Doug Naylor

That was the only place we could get him in.

And anyway, he then, so that's because I did robot walks and silly voices and things like that, that he said, come and meet Rob and Doug, who are the writers of Red Dwarf, Rob Grant and Doug Naylor.

And I mean, I was all, I kind of said no, because that play had been commissioned by Channel 4 to be a TV series.

Right.

He ju- And I, I, um, I actually too had to look it up, 'cause I was like, "I wonder what's going on here.

Why did, did a, did a fan, now the series has been around long enough, help write this?" And no, this says just written by Doug Naylor, and I know there's a writers' room, though.

Yes.

So, and, and that doesn't necessarily get credit.

This is, I think, why you see so many successful comedy writing duos.

So, I mean, modern terms for, for listeners, um, uh, Rob Grant and Doug Naylor are two of the guys who create, um, the British TV show Red Dwarf.

And they, when they are working together, when they create that show together, they are on fire.

They are finishing each other's thoughts.

Yeah.

And at 2012, you might be there with red dwarf where you almost want to someone else let doug naylor executive produce it but maybe it's time to let

somebody else write it that's a good point

actually you know other folks take it

yeah but then yeah definitely something weird i remember watching it first time and immediately i was like oh i'm out it's done

yeah it's done yeah yeah yeah um all right doug naylor if you're listening come on mate um he's he sat at home right now with a cup of tea uh with a john maybe mug and t-shirt on um

Saying, I'll never work with this life.

Something about that rings true.
