In other election news, a candidate running for North State Congressman James Gallagher's former assembly seat is apologizing after a campaign post featured the late Doug LaMalfa.

In a social media post this week, LaMalfa's sister, Sherry LaMalfa Smith, said a group photo used by Republican candidate Don Belza falsely implied an endorsement.

Belza said that wasn't his intent and ordered the photo replaced.
