No, she really didn't.

And there was this one thing that, oh, one of her sort of frenemies was Dorothy Parker.

And remember Bruno Hauptmann and the Lindbergh? Sure, sure.

and Lindbergh's little baby son was kidnapped, and they found this worker and pinned it on him.

This is just absolutely just intolerable.

And it was very widely publicized.

So the reticence that she may have felt and lived about her personal life didn't apply when it came to social issues at all.

And then you think like, oh my God, that's all just part of a building, building, building myth.

Everybody invariably says Hemingway thought of it first or Dorothy Parker and it's rubbish, they didn't.
