Dorian Thomas

He had a long touchdown and a, and two other catches, uh, in the loss to UNLV, but, you know, a highly rated recruit there, Ty Maine Purcell, and you ka- saw, kinda saw some of his speed on the, I don't know, 70, 80-yard touchdown that he had against UNLV.

And if, uh, Dorian Thomas is going to remain out, maybe, maybe it, it w- maybe Cal starts looking for other weapons, so let's see if he gets rolling as the season rolls on.

Uh, Jack Foley at Wake Forest, we got another one of these 6'4", uh, wide receivers, possession guys, a true freshman.

He's got nine receptions for 172 yards, uh, through two games, and his last game against Stanford he had three for 54.

Um, you know, uh, Mason Mini returned.

He had, Dorian Thomas was supposed to be a good tight end addition to this offense.

Um, and I'm forgetting a, a wide receiver that also came to this team.

Uh, Chase Hendricks maybe from Ohio.

I haven't really looked to see if he's built up any stock in that department, but with the stats he's putting up on a top 10 team, the NFL's not gonna be able to ignore him for long.

And wrapping it up at number 10, we had tight end Dorian Thomas.

Began his career at Arizona before transferring to New Mexico and breaking out as a first team All-Mountain West selection.

Was far and away the best tight end in the conference last year.

Chase Hendricks, the Ohio transfer, has not really done that much.

They've not gotten anything out of Dorian Thomas, the Mexico transfer, tied in.

It's been overall just a massive disappointment.

I was so excited about Cal and what his offense could be, that they could be a thorn in people's side.

And then we interviewed Jim McGill, uh from bear insider uh he did a five and five questions with me answer five uh questions about the opponent with me and he said he basically gave me the same answer and issues that um the golden bear report did just from a different angle uh he said that cal fans have been frustrated by the third and long play calls well yeah the unlb fans have really been upset with that too and where the Bears throw the ball behind the sticks and then ask the receiver to create and make space and basically create the conversion for himself.

And he also pointed out Cooper Perry in the tight end room, Mason Minney, Dorian Thomas, as talented, but has not given Cal consistent enough play, and they have not got any consistency from that room.

And you can argue that's the same thing with you, and I'll be right.

You've really gotten nothing from Kenyon Burnett and Matt Burns in that wide receiver room.

If Muhammad plays, but it's mainly going to be Emery out of the backfield, hits a release out of the backfield.

Maybe Ian Strong gets a quick throw.

Maybe Dorian Thomas gets behind the linebacker.

Then once UNLV starts flying downhill because they're playing short ball, that's when Cal takes their deep shot.

We've not seen anything from Cooper Perry.

We finally saw Dorian Thomas for one reception.

Mason Mennie has not really carried over from what he did last season.

They've all been disappointing as far as the weapons that he's brought for JKS this season.

And then the tight end situation is a little confusing.

Mason Minney and Dorian Thomas are both here.

They're both good.

They're both going to trade snaps.

So certainly I'm curious whether the offense that we saw late against Carolina is good.

gonna be Clemson's offense moving forward and it's the same thing with Cal of the transfers they brought in Adam Muhammad from Washington has been great everybody else okay like Chase Hendricks from Ohio and Ian Strong from Rutgers they've been okay but they've not been nearly as impactful as I thought they could be Cooper Perry from Oregon he's done nothing Dorian Thomas been banged up but has not done anything yet the They've got to find a way to make some plays for JKS.
