Has food always been on the move?

Food has, uh, very often been on the move in the past for a very long time, and I, I tend to divide it up into kind of three kind of broad or maybe four broad stages.

The first stage is, is when, uh, agriculture originates, when people start domesticating plants.

That's a kind of local hunter-gatherer groups domesticating local plants.

Once agriculture is established, it tends to spread.

So agricultural populations tend to grow demographically.

Uh, then they, then you get outward migrations of parts of those populations in search of new land, and they take their crops with them.

How did that happen?
